The Department of Defense is reporting that the Pentagon went missing after all DOD employees happened to take their lunch break at the exact same time. This news comes hours after an F-35 Lightning fighter jet disappeared subsequent to its pilot ejecting over South Carolina.
These recent events have called into question the US Government's state of readiness, with former President Donald Trump slamming the Biden Administration for its lack of responsibility.
"WHEN I WAS PRESIDENT THE GOVERNMENT NEVER MISPLACED AS MUCH AS A PAPER CLIP," Trump posted on his social network platform Truth Social.
Other Republicans have joined Trump in condemning the incompetence of the current administration, with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy saying that he will be looking into whether he should contemplate considering opening an inquiry into these latest episodes.
Meanwhile, pundits for CNN and MSNBC have said it is too early to point fingers, and have urged the public to do their part in checking their backyards to see if perhaps the second-largest office building in the world might be behind a tree or under a bush.
"Who hasn't misplaced their phone or keys before?" Anderson Cooper said. "We need to give the Government a chance to check under their couches before we rush to judgement."
Rumors that President Biden himself has gone missing are currently unconfirmed.
